About
Bee Love Slater was a 23 year old transgender woman who is remembered by loved ones as someone "with a really, really sweet heart" who "never harmed anyone." She was very close to her mother, Wunda Williams, and her friends remember her as always having a smile on her face, giving hugs and kisses and telling them that she loved them. Bee Love was from Pakokee, Florida, and was working as a security guard, but was hoping to move to Atlanta, Georgia in hopes of finding a community that would be more accepting of her gender identity.
Bee Love Slater was the 18th transgender person killed in the U.S. in 2019. All but one were women of color. Bee Love was found burned beyond recognition inside a torched vehicle beside a canal in Harlem, Florida. There are still a lot of unknowns regarding the circumstances of Bee Loves murder. The homicide investigation is still active and the FBI has partnered with the Hendry County Sheriff's Department.
