Jonie's final resting place is at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Forest City, Ark.

On May 15, 2017, according to police, 27-year-old Jonie Pilar Block was wanted for a homicide that happened earlier in the day. Police say Block was spotted several hours after the first incident by a bystander at the Japanese Friendship Garden, who noticed she was armed and called law enforcement. A responding officer, recognized that she could be the suspect sought in the earlier case and tried to negotiate with her. She allegedly denied his commands and he shot and killed Jonie.

Was justice served?

As of 2017, justice has not been served. The responding office was not held responsible, instead the identity of the officer involved was not immediately released. Police say the officer has at least 20 years of experience and his response was based on his judgement and experience as an officer.
