Mya Hall grew up in the northwest suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. Her only known relative was her grandmother and there was no contact with her parents. She worked hard in life in order to get by. As a teenager, she became homeless and lived with a few other teenagers nearby. Many of her friends and coworkers described her as hardworking and she had hoped to live a happy, peaceful life.
Mya Hall was with a friend, Brittany Fleming (20), in a SUV driving through Baltimore, Maryland. They took a wrong exit onto Baltimore-Washington Parkway, which led to the National Security Agency (NSA). They didn't listen to the officers' instructions and continued towards the restricted gate entrance. The two women were not armed, but officers open fired onto the vehicle, killing Mya Hall and injuring Brittany Fleming.
